My Thoughts For Coping Through COVID-19

Honeyyyy.. Happy Sunday! Time to finally check-in! Like everyone else, I've been keeping up with the news and been drowned with everything that has to do with COVID-19 aka CORONAVIRUS. I know it's been a lot and I just want to touch base to see how everyone is coping and to share some positive insight & words of encouragement that’s been helpful to me during this time.

BE PRESENT: I'm not going to lie, when COVID-19 first started flooding the news I didn't want to watch or hear too much about it. Everyone was talking about it and I was sick of hearing about it. Whatever you do don't block out the news for COVID-19 because its important for us all to stay updated. Instead, try to make sure you filter the fake/gossip news from the real news and facts for the virus. Be aware of what’s going on in your community and what you can do to keep you, your family and those around you safe.

For those of you who are home with your kids STAY STRONG! LOL! Take this time to do some extra bonding and pull out the board games. I encourage you to take some time to unplug, watch movies and play games like charades that will make you guys get creative.

DON'T GIVE UP ON YOUR DREAMS: Now is not the time to panic and just drop everything you have going on! So many businesses have been affected by the virus and some were even forced to close. This is truly a trying time for us all but don't lose hope! Whatever you can do to keep your business alive DO IT! Whether that be reposting pics, creating content, doing videos at home on how to use your products or rock the clothes in your boutique. Sit down, get still and get creative! Continue to post and promote your business daily. This too shall pass! Be safe, go hard and keep applying pressure!

SELF CARE: If you haven't had time to truly take some care days for yourself well guess what...NOW YOU DO!!! To be honest I love it! This year has been rolling super fast for me and now I have more time to sit still, relax, reflect and refocus on all that I have going on. During this time I encourage you to:

Stretch in the mornings

Pray & meditate

Do daily devotions

Find a great book or ebook to read

Run a mile around your neighborhood or do at home exercise routines

Take bubble baths instead of showers

Do a face mask

Deep condition your hair

Binge watch your favorite shows

&& Watch what you're eating!! Sis, DO NOT snack this time in quarantine away!! LOL!

Most importantly I think the best self-care we can practice during this time is renewing our minds and spirits. Your thoughts are driven from there and in turn affect your body and your actions. Right now most of the US is panicking, worried, and stressed....look at how it's affecting us already...empty grocery stores and more. Don't let this pandemic take over your mind. I want to share this bible verse with you that my mom shared with me:

Psalm 91

1 Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High

will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.[a]

2 I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress,

my God, in whom I trust.”

3 Surely he will save you

from the fowler’s snare

and from the deadly pestilence.

4 He will cover you with his feathers,

and under his wings you will find refuge;

his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart.

5 You will not fear the terror of night,

nor the arrow that flies by day,

6 nor the pestilence that stalks in the darkness,

nor the plague that destroys at midday.

7 A thousand may fall at your side,

ten thousand at your right hand,

but it will not come near you.

8 You will only observe with your eyes

and see the punishment of the wicked.

9 If you say, “The Lord is my refuge,”

and you make the Most High your dwelling,

10 no harm will overtake you,

no disaster will come near your tent.

11 For he will command his angels concerning you

to guard you in all your ways;

12 they will lift you up in their hands,

so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.

13 You will tread on the lion and the cobra;

you will trample the great lion and the serpent.

14 “Because he[b] loves me,” says the Lord, “I will rescue him;

I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name.

15 He will call on me, and I will answer him;

I will be with him in trouble,

I will deliver him and honor him.

16 With long life I will satisfy him

and show him my salvation.”

Remember no matter what God is in control. Be safe, protect yourselves! This too shall pass. As always Like, Comment, Share & Subscribe..
