20 Min Beef Lo Mein

Happy Wednesday Queens!
Coming to you live with another quick meal to help you get through these busy afternoons! I love to cook for my family but after a long day at work sometimes the kitchen is the last place I want to be. Whipping up these quick healthy meals not only puts a smile on my family's face but it allows me to wind down and relax sooner! Today I'm going to show you guys how I fix my version of authentic beef lo mein! I loved Chinese food growing up and unfortunately, I don't have a favorite "go to" Chinese restaurant in town so this was great! Let's get into it!! 

 

 

INGREDIENTS
 
Sauce:
  • 3 tablespoons Kikkoman Soy Sauce

  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil

  • 1 teaspoon sugar

Beef:
  • 8 ounce flank steak sliced against the grain

Lo Mein:
  • 4–6 ounces uncooked lo mein or ramen noodles

  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil

  • 3 green onions, chopped (separate green parts from white parts – you’ll use both separately)

  • 1 Bag of Taylor Farms Ginger Garlic Stir Fry Kit

  • 1–2 tablespoons mirin

 
 (All ingredients can be found at your local Walmart)
INSTRUCTIONS
  1. Sauce: Pour all the sauce ingredients together in a bowl and whisk together.

  2. Noodles: Cook the noodles in a large pot according to package instructions. Drain well and set aside.

  3. Pan sear the beef then remove from heat and set aside.

  4. Lo Mein: Heat the sesame oil in a large wok or skillet. Add the green onions (white parts) and bag of vegetable mix to the hot pan. Stir fry until fork-tender, about 5 minutes. Next, add the mirin to loosen the browned bits off the bottom of the pan. Add your cooked noodles, then add your beef and about half of the sauce -- gently toss around in the pan to combine. You can add more sauce if needed (gauge the amount of sauce you want by the color of the noodles -- you want a medium brown color, not too light, not too dark).

  5. Top with the remaining green onions & serve!
